All are invited to attend our Thursday meeting for the election of Board Officers at the Fairbanks Center starting at 7:00.

“Just Let the Kids Play”:

Many of you have already received emails for the “Just Let the Kid Play” presentation on March 24^th (7:00) at the LS auditorium.  In that respect, I’d like to explain the reason why the high school and our town youth sports programs have sponsored this presentation and why you should attend.

Times have certainly changed since we played sports as a kid.  The demands, peer pressures and many other influences have placed and unjustly burden upon our kids and families upon playing youth sports.  Thankfully, clear heads at LS and the youth programs have recognized there has to be a better way to “Just Let the Kid Play”.

This presentation is focused to present values and ideas to parents, coaches and leaders in the youth programs to work together to put the kids first so they can enjoy all sports that they choose to participate. 

As a first step, several youth sport programs are trying to reach out to each other to minimize conflicts for practice and game times.   This one of many changes that we, as parents, coaches and teachers, can help our children enjoy youth sports.

We encourage you to attend this meeting and become involved with your youth programs.

The meeting will be held at the Fairbanks from 7:00 to 9:00.  Please go the front desk and they will direct you to the meeting room.

Time is moving on and many positions within the organization need to be filled with new people.  We need your to help volunteer to fill positions that are open.

Please, do not be hesitant to fill a position.  Whether you are just beginning with SPW or have been in the program for a while, you are welcome  to help us move the program forward.

Below are the current board positions that must be filled ASAP.  Please contact or if you have any interest with any of the positions.  All positions will be mentored by existing board members to assist in the transition.

President:

·             Oversees all aspects of the SPW program

Football commissioner

·             Oversees teams, coaches, schedules etc.

Registration Director

·             Manages all registration paperwork and Pop Warner Scholastic achievement

Secretary

·             Notes for board meetings

Web Master

·             Web Site maintenance and general announcements

At-large BOD member

·             Voting rights at all board meetings
